Functions and their graphs, limits of functions, continuity, slope and rate of change, derivatives, formulas and rules of differentiation, applications of the derivative, theory of indefinite and definite integrals, and applications of integration. Prerequisite: Appropriate ACT or placement score, or MA 121 with a grade of "C" or better. CORE-I. FA.

Inverse functions; logarithmic, exponential, trigonometric and hyperbolic and the differentiation and integration of these functions, techniques of integration, conic sections, parametric equations, polar coordinates, indeterminate forms, improper integrals, and infinite series. Vectors in two and three dimensions, vector-valued functions and their derivatives, line and surface integrals, analytical geometry in three dimensions, differential calculus of functions of two or more variables and applications, and multiple integration. Development of non-metric geometry of the plane and space; measurement of lengths and angles; simple closed curves and congruent and similar figures. These topics are treated with particular attention to the needs of elementary and middle school teachers.
