Students will be challenged to correlate revelation found in scripture about God, the need for human redemption, and God's provision in Christ with their own spiritual life and conduct. Credit is not applicable to all programs. Prerequisite: BIB/HIS 135X or BIB/HIS 136X

SPRING This course is a study of God's redemptive purpose in the Old and New Testament with major emphasis on how the character of God impacts missions. Consideration will also be given to the missionary emphasis of the ministry of Jesus and Paul as well as to contemporary theologies of missions. (Also ICS 235X) Prerequisite: ICS 131

SPRING Affirming that Christian doctrine is the foundation for a Christian world view, this course investigates the concepts of God and His revelation to us, God's intentions for humankind, and the need for restoration created by sin. Special attention is given to the origins and life of The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Credit is not applicable to all programs.

FALL, SPRING, or SUMMER Based upon a survey of philosophical, biblical and theological backgrounds, the process of making moral decisions will be examined. Values grounded in biblical principles will be applied to personal conduct and to social problems such as euthanasia, poverty, environmental issues and the church's social responsibility. Students will be encouraged to address issues related to their major. (Also PHI 333X) Prerequisite: THE 231 or THE 331 or THE 332 or consent of the instructor

FALL, SPRING, or SUMMER Components of non-Christian worldviews will be compared with a Christian perspective. Various attempts to verify Christian truth will be presented, including both empirical and philosophical evidence. Students will be encouraged to examine and refine their own worldview based on Christian principles. The relationship between apologetics and evangelism will also be discussed. Students are introduced to the background, theological emphases, and vision of the denomination. Prerequisite: Pastoral Leadership, Youth, Youth/Social Ministry, and Discipleship Ministries majors only during block semester

Students apply Biblical principles to issues in personal conduct, as well as social problems such as euthanasia, abortion, and poverty. Students will also be encouraged to address ethical issues related to their major. May substitute for THE 333X. Prerequisite: THE 231 or THE 331 or THE 332

ARR This course is an intensive, supervised investigation of a biblical or theological topic by an individual student. Enrollment and topic selection are by permission of the instructor and department chair. The course is limited to Biblical and Theological Studies and Pastoral Leadership majors.
