Writers of fiction and nonfiction, prose writers and poets have discovered in the athletic experience a useful metaphor to express the very purpose and meaning of life. This course is designed to acquaint students with the essence of games as myth and metaphor, and examines the place of athletics in society as well as the social, political and economic implications of sports.
