    Banner Title: Clinical Radiography V This course provides students with continued hospital setting work experience. Students demonstrate increased proficiency levels in skills introduced in radiographic procedures courses and practiced in previous clinical radiography courses. Topics include advanced radiographic anatomy; equipment utilization; exposure techniques; sterile techniques; participation in and/or observation of angiographic, interventional, minor special, and special genitourinary system procedures; participation in and/or observation of special equipment use; patient care; and behavioral and social competency. Students execute radiographic procedures under direct and indirect supervision at clinical facilities.     Banner Title: Clinical Radiography VI This clinical course provides a hospital setting in which students continue to develop proficiency levels in skills introduced in radiographic procedures courses and practiced in previous clinical radiography courses. Topics include patient care, behavioral and social competency, equipment utilization, exposure techniques, and participation in and/or observation of routine and special radiographic procedures.     Banner Title: Clinical Radiography VII This course provides a culminating hospital setting work experience that allows students to synthesize information and procedural instruction provided throughout the program. Topics include patient care, behavioral and social competency, equipment utilization, ex posure techniques, participation in and/or observation of routine and special radiographic procedures, and completion of all required clinical competencies. Students execute radiographic procedures under direct and indirect supervision. Prerequisites: RAD 120 with a grade of C or better, RAD 137 with a grade of C or better Offered Spring term

    Banner Title: Pharmacology This course introduces the physiologic and pharmacologic basis of pulmonary and cardiac medications. Students will study the preparation, calculation of dosages, and mixtures. Students also study the general principles of pharmacology. Topics include drug preparation, dosage calculation, mixture preparation, pharmacology principles, bronchoactive drugs, and cardiopulmonary system-related drugs. ACLS certification is completed in this course.     Banner Title: Intro to Respiratory Therapy This course provides students with the principles of chemistry and physics as they apply to respiratory therapy. Students examine specific modes of respiratory care to develop an understanding of the principles of application to patients, indications, hazards, contraindications, evaluation of therapy, and patient assessment. Topics include respiratory therapy chemistry and physics principles, patient assessment, medical gases, humidity/aerosol therapy, positive pressure breathing, incentive spirometry, expiratory resistance, postural drainage, percussion/vibration, universal precautions, and hospital safety.     Banner Title: Respiratory Therapy Lab I Students gain hands-on experience with basic respiratory therapy equipment. Students perform simulated clinical exercises, bedside assessments, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Topics include patient assessment, medical gases, humidity/aerosol therapy, positive pressure breathing, incentive spirometry, postural drainage, percussion/vibration, and medical ethics.     Banner Title: Cardio Anatomy/Physiology This course provides an in-depth study of cardiac and pulmonary anatomy and physiology, as well as the diagnostic procedures commonly used in hospitals to evaluate these systems. Topics include the function of the respiratory system, ventilatory mechanisms, gas transport in the blood, natural and chemical regulation of breathing, circulation, blood flow and pressure, and cardiac output. Instructors emphasize the heart-lung relationship and clinical applications of these phenomena in the cardiopulmonary system.     Banner Title: Clinical Practice I This course introduces clinical practice in basic respiratory care procedures. Topics include an introduction to the clinical affiliate, medical gas therapy, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, incentive spirometry, patient assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and mechanical ventilation with related critical care skills.
