Instructors teach theoretical constructs within the context of the Neuman Systems Model. Course emphasis is on the nursing process, basic psychomotor skills, and assessment of the well client. Program content examines selected predictable stressors causing illness in adult clients in the context of the Neuman Systems Model and roles of associate degree nurses. Emphasis is on normal aging, as well as system instability in the perioperative and medically ill adult client. Pharmacologic concepts include medication administration and the use of pharmacologic agents in the treatment of system instability.
