3 cr. Presents introductory information about marine organisms, including birds, mammals, fishes, and invertebrates native to the Oregon Coast. Includes identification of these organisms, basic knowledge about their natural history, introduction to scientific terminology, basic awareness of scientific classification, and information related to the understanding of the physical exhibitory structure and life support systems in maintaining these animals in an aquarium environment. Provides background and practice in interpretation of the knowledge gained to members of the general public.
