Features real child care givers working and playing together with children in ways that facilitate learning and development. Locations used during the filming include a suburban preschool, an urban infant center and preschool, an in-home family child care program, two university child care centers, and Head Start classrooms. May also be useful to other professionals who come into contact with children and need to be aware of issues regarding child abuse and neglect. Includes examining the causes of abuse, the abused child, the abusive parent and adult, the role of the teacher, areas of treatment, and education. (Offered via distance education.)
