Description: PRE/COREQUISITES: Advanced Criminal Procedure (7004) Evidence (7024) 3L Students ONLY in fall semester. 2L & 3L in spring. Students selected by the law school to participate in the externship must then pass a federal government security clearance. Students participating in this program will serve as externs in the United States Attorney's Office in Delaware. Assistant United States Attorneys will supervise student- externs in that office and each extern will be required to spend twelve (12) hours per week at the office. They will participate in the work of the office, including investigation and prosecution of criminal cases and representing the United States Government in civil cases. In addition, each extern will be required to maintain a journal of experiences and work done in the externship, to meet bi-weekly with the Law School supervisor, and to evaluate the externship in writing at the end of the semester. Grading will be on a pass/fail basis. Their supervising attorneys will evaluate students; however, the final grade is the responsibility of the Law School supervisor. 3.00credit(s) Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Law School Prerequisites: ( LAW 7004 and LAW 7024)

Description: 3L students ONLY. PREREQUISITE: Environmental Law (7021) Students participating in this externship will serve as law clerks in the Region III office of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Philadelphia. The student-externs will be supervised by attorneys in the Region III office. Each extern will be required to spend 12 hours per week at the Region III office. Each extern will have the position of "law clerk". The duties of that position include legal research, participation in enforcement matters, and participation in negotiation and informal dispute resolution. In addition, each extern will be required to meet periodically with the law school supervisor and to submit a written report toward the end of the semester, to the supervisor in which the extern will describe and evaluate the externship experience. Grading will be on a pass/fail basis. The supervising attorneys will do student evaluations.
