  • 1.00 - 3.00 Credits

    The first of a two-part sequence of courses in which independent research is conducted under the supervision of a thesis advisor from the Marketing department resulting in a substantial piece of original research, roughly 30 to 50 pages in length upon completion of Marketing 4999. The student must publicly present his/her findings at a Temple University Research Forum session or the equivalent during one of the two semesters during which these courses are undertaken. Prerequisite:    Approval of instructor, Fox School Research Scholar Director, and Fox School Honors Director
  • 3.00 Credits

    The application of quantitative and behavioral techniques to the strategic planning and evaluation of marketing systems. Emphasizes integration of the knowledge acquired during prior marketing course work. This is accomplished through a competitive computer simulation, individual applications of concepts and theories to actual firms, cases, and the development and presentation of a marketing plan set within a strategic marketing context.

    Note: Capstone course for Marketing majors. It is strongly recommended for students in their senior year. MAY NOT be taken in the same semester as any MKTG CORE (3511, 3596, 3553) course. Prerequisite:    MKTG 2101 (0081) or 2901 (0091), and 3596 (W160) and 3511 (0210), and 3553 (0250), all with a grade of C or better, and at least one other 3500-level marketing course

  • 1.00 - 3.00 Credits

  • 3.00 Credits

    An examination of the activities necessary for the provision of the organization’s product or service. Planning and scheduling of operations, allocation of resources, including staffing requirements and equipment decisions, inventory control and production planning, waiting line problems, and quality.

    Mode: Computer lab utilized for homework problems and exams. Prerequisite:    STAT 2101/2901 (C021/H093) AND 2102/2902 (0022/H094), OR STAT 2103/2903. Minimum grade of C- required in all prerequisite courses

  • 3.00 Credits

    Readings and/or papers under supervision of a faculty member. Prerequisite:    Consultation with faculty member and approval of department chair
  • 3.00 Credits

    Open only to business designated Honors students (or with special permission). May be used to fulfill the operations management requirement of the Fox School of Business and Management.

    Note: The Honors version of MSOM 3101 (0105). Prerequisite:    STAT 2101 (C021) or 2901 (H093), and 2102 (0022) or 2902 (H094), or successful completion with a grade of C- or better of STAT 2103/2903 or permission of instructor and junior standing

    Methods for teaching percussion skills to students in a school setting. Topics may include but are not limited to: literature selection, various instrument performance idiosyncrasies, hand position and posture, maintenance, repair, proactive teaching and troubleshooting, methods and materials; instrument makes, accessories. Students are required to develop a fundamental playing knowledge of instruments and literature.

    Note: Required of all music education majors. Prerequisite:    Current required clearances for the Music Education degree program: PA Child Abuse History; PA Criminal History Check; and FBI Fingerprint and Criminal History Report

  • 1.00 Credits

    Methods for teaching woodwind skills to students in a school setting. Topics may include but are not limited to: literature selection, instrument assembly, hand position and posture, maintenance, assembling, embouchure, tone production, transposition, fingerings, range; proactive teaching and troubleshooting, methods and materials; instrument makes, and accessories. Students are required to develop a fundamental playing knowledge of instruments.

    Note: Required of all music education majors. Prerequisite:    Current required clearances for the Music Education degree program: PA Child Abuse History; PA Criminal History Check; and FBI Fingerprint and Criminal History Report

  • 1.00 Credits

    Students with voice, piano, or guitar performance concentration may take either Music Education 1653 (0052) or Music Education 1654 (0053) [Music Education 1653 (0052) is recommended]. Methods for teaching string skills to students in a school setting. Topics may include but are not limited to: literature selection, fingering and bowing patterns, shifting, vibrato, hand position and posture, maintenance, tone production, proactive teaching and troubleshooting, methods and materials; instrument makes, and accessories. Students are required to develop a fundamental playing knowledge of instruments.

    Note: Required of all music education majors with band or orchestra emphasis. Prerequisite:    Current required clearances for the Music Education degree program: PA Child Abuse History; PA Criminal History Check; and FBI Fingerprint and Criminal History Report

  • 1.00 Credits
