3 Cr. (WTC course 201127) Introduction to graphic design for the World Wide Web. Emphasis is on learning a popular HTML editor program and applying design principles rather than memorizing HTML code. Course will also cover project planning, image optimization and fi le formatting, basic animation, color and cross platform issues, as well as research projects on the Internet. Macinthosh platform. Prerequisite: 100.

3 Cr. (WTC course 203115) Basic principles of photography are studied. Camera handling techniques, fi lm processing (black and white), contact and enlarged printing, print mounting, copying materials on a copy stand and planning and producing a digital slide show are units of study. There will be an intro unit on digital photography. Students must provide their own 35mm adjustable lens camera.

3 Cr. (WTC course 203125) Students will use digital camera to create digital images. Basic image manipulation and output will be taught using Photoshop software. Topics and projects include the depth of fi eld, production planning, studio fl ash photography, and producing a number of PowerPoint presentations. Before beginning this class, you should have a working knowledge of your computer and its operating systems. Students must provide their own cameras.

3 Cr. (WTC course 204109) This is a basic course in the use of the electronic publishing software QuarkXpress. The student will learn how to utilize basic tools and key strokes, place text and art, apply typographical formats to text, use style sheets and create tabs and master pages to create various types of publications.

3 Cr. (WTC course 204126) An introductory course, designed to introduce the concepts and terminology of offset printing. The student will obtain hands-on experience in each of the following areas: digital imaging, fi lm assembly, platemaking, proofi ng, press and binding/fi nishing procedures. Other printing processes are discussed. Prerequisites: 100, 120.

(WTC course 206128) This course will research using the Internet and the types of fi le formats and production software used to create multimedia, for example, streaming video, GIF, JPEG, and Quick- Time. Copyright and Internet security will also be covered. Before beginning this class, you should have a working knowledge of your computer and its operating systems.

3 Cr. (WTC course 206139) Training in operation, troubleshooting, and minor repair of various types of audiovisual equipment will be covered. Multiple camera set up, satellite systems, fi ber optics, computer networking and cable systems will be covered with theory and hands-on approach. All students will be required to do a report on current or future technology.

(WTC course 404311) Basic fundamentals of electronics, diagnostic resources, semiconductor materials, diodes, zener diodes, transistors, analog and digital signals, auto computer, computer memory, processor inputs and outputs, fault codes and strategy based diagnosis are presented in a manner which relates the subject to the occupation. Prerequisite: 153.
