Methods of contrastive linguistics to analyze pertinent aspects of language structure, involving syntax, vocabulary and style, as well as basic theoretical-historical concepts are employed. Students are given ample opportunity to apply these techniques and concepts through a series of written translation assignments, which form the basis for class discussion. Prerequisite/Co-requisite: FL 3740 is strongly advised, but not required.
