This Habit of Mind course focuses on assisting students to identify, develop, and apply a growth mindset regarding STEM subjects. Students practice curiosity, inquiry, and critical thinking in a variety of STEM subjects as well as in practical experiences.

Students are taught awareness of current communication and conflict patterns and how to manage conflict collaboratively. Students develop effective communication habits of mind, enhancing a student's ability to use communication skills to effectively manage conflict in a variety of settings. Repeatable for credit.

In this course, students participate in a variety of events, initiatives, and assignments to learn theories, methods, and application of first-generation student leadership to further build their skills as leaders and mentors at USU and beyond.
