Two-week course conducted at an Army installation in the continental U.S. Provides students with training in helicopter operations, including sling loading and rappelling. Prerequisite/Restriction: Instructor permission.

Three-week course conducted at Fort Benning, Georgia. Provides students with training in military skydiving techniques with practical applications. Prerequisite/Restriction: Instructor permission.

1.00 - 6.00 Credits
Four-week training held at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Combines intense classroom learning with hands-on field training. This course is an accelerated version of the two years of leadership development training cadets receive in the Basic Course. Students completing this course qualify for enrollment in the Advanced Course. Prerequisite/Restriction: Passing score on APFT exam and instructor's approval.

Cadets study, practice, and evaluate leadership skills as they are presented with the demands of the ROTC Leader Development Assessment Course (LDAC). Challenging scenarios related to small-unit tactical operations are used to develop self-awareness and critical thinking skills. Cadets receive systematic and specific feedback on their leadership abilities. Cadets begin to analyze and evaluate their own leadership values, attributes, skills, and actions. Primary attention given to preparation for LDAC. Prerequisites/Restrictions: MSL 1010, MSL 1020, MSL 2010, and MSL 2020 or at least two years prior Military Service. Only contracted Army ROTC Cadets are eligible for the course. Semester(s) Traditionally Offered: Fall

Enhances self-confidence, teamwork, and leadership. Allows prospective officers to practice essential leadership skills and receive feedback on their performances. In order to continue with aspects taught in the classroom, students participate in this lab for three hours per week.

Cadets experience increasingly intense situational leadership challenges. Skills in decision-making, persuading, and motivating team members when "under fire" are explored, evaluated, and developed. Aspects of military operations are reviewed as a means of preparing for LDAC. Cadets are expected to apply basic principles of the Law of Land Warfare, Army training, and motivation to troop leading procedures. Emphasizes conducting military briefings and developing proficiency in Garrison operations orders. Prerequisites/Restrictions: MSL 1010, MSL 1020, MSL 2010, MSL 2020, and MSL 3010 or at least two years prior Military Service. Only contracted Army ROTC Cadets are eligible for the course.

Cadets develop proficiency in planning, executing, and assessing complex operations; functioning as a member of a staff; and in providing leadership-performance feedback to subordinates. They analyze, evaluate, coach, and instruct less-experienced cadets. Both their classroom and battalion leadership experiences are designed to prepare them for their first unit of assignment. Cadets identify responsibilities of key staff, coordinate staff roles, and use situational opportunities to teach, train, and develop subordinates. Prerequisites/Restrictions: MSL 1010, MSL 1020, MSL 2010, MSL 2020, MSL 3010, and MSL 3020 or at least two years prior Military Service. Only contracted Army ROTC Cadets are eligible for the course.
