Discusses specific disorders, including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, laryngectomy, stuttering, dysphagia, voice, and foreign accent/dialect. Explores cognitive and social aspects of communication.

This course explores issues, theories, models, research, and practices related to family and professional relationships in early intervention for children with hearing loss. It emphasizes early intervention needs of children with hearing loss who are acquiring spoken language. Additional coursework is required for those enrolled in the graduate-level course.
