Students study the evaluation of hearing for adults and children, including pure tone audiometry, clinical masking, speech audiometry, clinical immittance measures, and screening procedures. Disorders of the outer, middle, and inner ear that affect hearing and balance are addressed. Discussion of current research regarding the development and assessment of emergent literacy skills (ASL/English) and how to foster a literacy-rich environment in preschool settings.
