ACAC 0330. Computer Competence- Information technologies including hardware, software, and operating systems; Students who possess the minimum level of computer competence; documented couse or courses, will be albe to take COSC 2311; examination available for student that does not have transcripted competency; passing examination will allow student to proceed to COSC 2311; Failure of examination will require taking and passing ACAC 0330 prior to enrolling in COSC 2311.

The course is designed to assist students in developing practical study skill techniques that will enhance their academic success in college. The course stresses study and listening skills, learning styles, time management, decision making, goal setting, and the student-teacher connection. It will require oral presentations, using the university catalog, and research projects and a tour of the library. This course is required of all students who must enroll in at least two Academic Achievement courses.

ACAC 0322. College Reading II - Pronunciation, meaning, and usage of words; word attack skills; reading proficiency, reading speed and comprehension, analytical reading, and critical thinking. Lecture three hours, required laboratory one hour. Students must earn a āCā or better, and have an Accuplacer score of 70 or more to exit this course.

Order of operations, factoring whole numbers, least common demoninator, fractions, absolute values, adding and multiplying positive and negative real numbers will be taught. Lecture three hours, required laboratory one hour. Students must earn a "C" or better and have an Accuplacer score of 44-66 to advance to the next course.

Elementary Algebra - Review of operations of signed numbers, roots and exponents, set notation, unions and intersections, function notation, scientific notation, adding and subtracting polynomials and multiplying polynomials. ACAC 0330. Writing I - Grammar, punctuation, spelling and mechanics with writing assignments emphasizing simple and compound sentences, and clear, logically organized paragraphs. Lecture three hours, required laboratory one hour. Students must earn a āCā or better and have an Accuplacer score of 3 or 4 to advance to the next course.

ACAC 0331. Writing II - A review of skills taught in Writing I; practice in writing compound and complex sentences; writing paragraphs and beginning essays. Lecture three hours, required laboratory one hour. Students must earn a āCā or better, and have an Accuplacer score of 5 or more to exit this course.

Fundamental principles of accounting applied to individual proprietorship; journals, ledgers, working papers, adjusting and closing entries, financial statements, deferrals, accruals, plant and intangible assets, and accounting systems. Credit not awarded toward degree for both ACCT 2305 and ACCT 3307. Corequisite: MATH 1304 or consent of school.

Accounting for partnerships and corporations. Fixed assets, depreciation, depletion, amortization, bonds, sinking funds, reserves, control accounting, and decision-making. Credit will not be awarded toward degree for both ACCT 2306 and ACCT 3308. Prerequisite: ACCT 2305.
