This course is an introduction to the marketing structure as it exists and functions. Emphasis will be placed on the managers' and consumers' influence in marketing functions as they relate to themarketing mix: product, price, promotion and distribution. The product, packaging and branding, industrial and consumer products, consumer behavior, pricing policy, channels of distribution, product planning and development, strategies, and legal issues are also discussed.

The course introduces the fundamental principles, theories, and concepts that apply in the field of management. The four managerial functions of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling are discussed. Students will learn how to apply these four functions in all types of businesses-sole proprietorship, partnerships, and corporations.

This course is designed to familiarize the students with accounting techniques using the microcomputers. Emphasis will be placed on general ledger, depreciation, bank reconciliation, payroll and financial statement analysis. Prerequisite: Business 233, CS 131 or permission by instructor.
