Continuation of the aims and objectives of news gathering and writing with emphasis on advanced reporting techniques. A continuation of COMM 2311 with discussions of various types of complex stories such as sports, reviews, criticisms, features, interviews and editorials; primarily a course to perfect students' writing skills and techniques; the ethics of reporting and the obligations of the competent journalist. Review of control structures and data types with emphasis on structured data types. Applies the object-oriented programming paradigm, focusing on the definition and use of classes along with the fundamentals of object-oriented design. Overview of computer information systems. Introduces computer hardware, software, procedures, systems, and human resources and explores their integration and application in business and other segments in society.
