This course provides specific techniques and safety measures of laser technology in the operating room, focusing on concepts of tissue interaction and problem solving. Techniques for analyzing surgical intervention needed for the trauma, pediatric, and the oncology patient will be addressed. (Formerly CHID 1315) This study of the child, family, community, and schools, includes parent education and involvement, family and community lifestyles, child abuse, and current family life issues. The course content is aligned with State Board for Educator Certification Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities standards. The course requires students to participate in a minimum of 16 hours of field experiences with children from infancy through age 12 in a variety of settings with varied and diverse populations.
