Designed as a "portfolio" course, this class will instruct the basics of game design and give students the opportunity to create and/or expand their game design portfolio with the creation of actual, interactive games using sound game-design techniques and methods. Students enrolled in IGMT 3320 must also enroll in IGMT 3120. Prerequisite: Consent of instructor.

This course teaches the basic skills of programming a computer using a high-level language and a visual development environment. It introduces data types, arrays, structures, algorithm design, control structures, loops, procedures, data abstraction, and object-oriented programming. This course provides an overview of modern database systems, including the critical issues for success in management of databases, such as designing, modeling, creating, querying, programming and administering a database. Different systems and system architectures are also examined. Prerequisites: ISMG 5100 and 5301 or concurrent registration, BUSI 6312

This course examines the role of the CIO, and helps students develop a top management strategic perspective. Students learn to develop and align competitive strategies, core competencies and information systems to achieve organizational goal, and to define the resources and units needed for successful implementation. New techniques such as outsourcing, ASPs, interorganizational systems and the creation of virtual organization are covered. Prerequisites: ISMG 5100 and 5301 or concurrent registration, BUSI 6312

This course provides the basic knowledge and skills to understand, categorize, design, implement and manage networking technologies. Students also explore the new services and large-scale networks available to create virtual organizations. Subjects such as computer platforms, protocols enabling client/server technologies, network performance, local area networks, wide area network technologies, internet, TCP/IP, and web technologies are covered. Prerequisites: ISMG 5100, ISMG 5301, and BUSI 6312 (may be taken concurrently).

This hands-on, non-credit course will help students prepare to complete the computer competency requirement. All modules will be covered in depth and module exams may be completed during the course.

Taught in English. Introduction to the contemporary culture of Japan and the historical development of cultural norms, customs, popular and fine arts of the Japanese people. Topics addressed include geography of Japan and the Far East, contemporary values, religious, social and political structure. Examples of Japanese literature in translation, music, film, video and other media will supplement traditional textbooks as source material for assignments and class discussion. (Spring)

A continuation of development of fundamental skills stressed in Japanese I, further development of vocabulary and grammatical structures needed for basic competence. Extensive listening outside of class is an integral part of the course. Prerequisite: JAPN 1311 or placement test. (Spring)
