A study of law of agency including principal-agent and master-servant relationships, the authority of an agent, the termination of an agent's authority, the fiduciary and other duties of an agent, employment law, deceptive trade practices, listing or buying procedures, and the disclosure of an agency. Texas Real Estate Commission requires this course before sitting for the salesman licensure exam. Semester Hours 3 (3 lec)

An overview of licensing as a real estate broker and salesman; ethic of practice; titles to and conveyancing of real estate; legal descriptions; law of agency; deeds; encumbrances and liens; distinctions between personal and real property; contracts; appraisal; finance and regulations; closing procedures; real estate mathematics; and federal, state, and local laws relating to housing discrimination, housing credit discrimination, and community reinvestment. Texas Real Estate Commission requires this course before sitting for the salesman licensure exam. Prerequisite: RELE 1301, concurrent enrollment in RELE 1301, or the consent of the program director. A study of the theoretical and practical framework necessary to understand the complex field of mortgage lending with emphasis on loan application, qualifications, and underwriting. A work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills and concepts. A learning plan is developed by the college and the employer. This is a Capstone course. This may be a paid or unpaid experience. The work environment is arranged by the student. Prerequisites: An approved work station and consent of the program director. (See Guidelines for Internships, page 67.) Semester Hours 5 (1 lec/15-20 lab)

A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. Clinical experiences will include general medical/surgical and community settings. Nursing Process is utilized to manage clients/families. Prerequisites: BIOL 2402, ENGL 1301, RNSG 2504, RNSG 1463, with grades of C or better. Corequisite: RNSG 1293. Semester Hours 1 (6 clinical hours/week)

Skills demonstration on orientation day. Prerequisites: Vocational Nurse License and admission to the Professional Nursing Program. Semester Hours 3 (3 lec/1 lab)

A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. Clinical experiences include introduction to the roles of the registered nurse with emphasis on health promotion and primary disease prevention across the life span, essential components of the nursing health assessment, identification of deviations from expected health patterns; the application of a systematic, problem-solving process to provide basic nursing care to diverse clients across the life span; and applicable competencies in knowledge, judgment, skills and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Nursing process is the systematic, problemsolving process utilized. Prerequisites: Admission to the Professional Nursing Program; CHEM 1405 or 1411, or BIOL 1408 or VNSG 1420, POFM 1202 or COSC 1301, PSYC 2301 with a grade of C or better. Corequisite: RNSG 1523. Semester Hours 4 (14 clinical hours/ week)
