Astudy of personal computer operating systems. Topics include installation and configuration, file management, memory and storage management, control of peripheral devices, and use of utilities. (Formerly CISY 1402).

A study of the UNIX operating system including multi-user concepts, terminal emulation, use of system editor, basic UNIX commands, and writing script files. Topics include introductory systems management concepts. Prerequisites: ITSC 1405, ITNW 1425.

A study of current personal computer hardware including personal computer assembly and upgrading, setup and configuration, and troubleshooting. Prerequisites: ITSC 1405 (Formerly CISY 2401) and ITSC 1491.

A study of current personal computer terminology and hardware technology. Topics addressed include personal computer acquisition, installation, and setup; file management, use of audio and video devices, web browsers, and e-mail. Maintenance and protection of personal computer, safe use of internet and setup of small wired and wireless networks.

Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.

Career-related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization offered through an individualized agreement among the college, employer, and student. Under the supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Includes a lecture component. (Formerly ITSC 2264).

Assessment of needs of a computing center and general principles of hardware and software acquisition, maintenance, licensing, and improving usage scheduling. Emphasis on interpersonal communication and management skills. Prerequisites: Must be taken in final semester before graduating or consent of instructor and credit or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 1301. Spring only (Formerly CISY 2450).
