HIST 462: Modern German History
3.00 Credits
Texas A & M University-Texarkana
A story of the German people from the unification process in the 19th Century through the unification process of the 20th Century. The brief history of a united Germany (1870-1945) demands the attention of reflective persons because it teaches us about the role of fear and cupidity and obtuseness in human affairs, about the seductions of power and the apparently limitless inhumanity that man is capable of, as well as courage and steadfastness and the bounty of creativity. 470. 20th Century Asia. A survey of major political, social, and cultural forces that have shaped the history of Asia in the Twentieth Century.
