3 credit hours (Spring Only) (Prerequisite: PSYC-1003 or PSYC-2213) Recent research dealing with adolescents is studied, with emphasis placed on the interaction of cultural, social, and personal family variables. Spiritual variables are integrated into the developmental process.

3 credit hours (As Needed) (Prerequisites: 12 hours of psychology; STAT-2303) An introduction to psychological research, past and present, with emphasis placed on experimental methodology and research design. A laboratory course: two hours lecture, one hour lab.

3 credit hours (Fall Only) (Prerequisite: PSYC-1003 or PSYC-2213) A study of the psychological tests of intelligence, achievement, aptitude, and personality, and their applicability, reliability, and validity as counseling tools.

3 credit hours (Spring Only) (Prerequisite: PSYC-1003 or PSYC-2213) A careful analysis of atypical behaviors, how they develop, and clinical applications for the disorders. Special emphasis is given to atypical behavior as it relates to the Christian faith.

3 credit hours (Fall and Spring) (Prerequisite: PSYC-2213) A study of the three interrelated concerns in the teachinglearning process: the students, the teacher, and the classroom strategies. The student explores the characteristics and growth of students in intellect, personality and character, as well as individual differences in ability and motivation. The student learns how teacher characteristics, as well as teaching strategies, affect the teaching-learning process.

3 credit hours (As Needed) (Prerequisite: PSYC-1003 or PSYC-2213) A study of the influence of social forces and interaction on personality development and the patterning of social behavior. Emphasis is placed upon the effects of mass communication, social class, and group membership upon the individual's attitude.

3 credit hours (Spring Only) (Prerequisite: PSYC-1003 or PSYC-2213) An introduction to the principles of personnel behavior as they relate to employee selection, training, supervision, motivation, morale, and reactions to working conditions.

3 credit hours (Fall Only) (Prerequisite: PSYC-1003 or PSYC-2213) A study of the factors that affect stress, such as low self-esteem, overall physical and mental health, and motivational and value systems, and offers solutions for the prevention and management of stress in the student's life and the lives of others.

3 credit hours (Fall Only) (Prerequisite: PSYC-1003 or PSYC-2213) The basics of Biblical counseling dealing with specific issues.

3 credit hours (Spring Only) (Prerequisites: PSYC-1003 or PSYC-2213, PS-326) A continued study, building on the principles of PS-326, this course explores the specific counseling skills necessary for helping those with anxiety, eating disorders, depression, and relationship/dependency issues.
