ART 238: Introduction to Art Therapy

Prerequisites: ART 105, 109; PSYC 122, 128. An introductory course designed to introduce the pre-art therapy student to the field and practice of Art Therapy. A minimum of thirty contact hours in the practice setting of Art Therapy with hands on experience is required. Lab fee 4 will be assessed for this course.

For students electing to take ART 295, permission of the instructor must be obtained. ART 495 is for majors and minors only. The course is designed for students who wish directed study or for a group of students who wish a special course not taught under the regular class offering. Students taking the class as directed study may choose from art history, ceramics, design, drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. (Students must have had maximum classes offered in area.) This course also includes credit offered by the Art Department on directed study tours. May be repeated for credit up to four times. Lab fee 4 will be assessed for this course.
