Emphasis placed upon three components of modern cartography the input, storage, and output of digital spatial data, advanced and contemporary thematic mapping techniques, and computer-assisted map design. Topics are presented during lecture and applied by the students in a laboratory setting. Students also gain experience in developing and implementing their own individualized map projects.
