CDIS 4017/5017: Speech and Hearing Science I

A study of the basic theories, physics, and acoustics of speech production. Information pertaining to the anatomy and physiology of spoken language are also presented. This course provides a laboratory experience that includes an introduction to the International Phonetic Alphabet and transcriptions of speech from typical speakers with different regional dialects.
