BIOL 2500: Biodiversity of Southern Appalachians

Prerequisites: BIOL 1110/11 - 1120/21. A field-intensive course that focuses on the assessment and measurement of biological diversity. Students are to become competent in the collection, identification, curation, and quantitative assessment of populations of organisms, past and present. Students will learn to characterize the biodiversity of a particular geographic area using the southern Appalachians as a model ecosystem.
