Procefessionals in the field will emphasize future career options in Medical Physics. Gues lectures, and visits to hospitals are two of the main activities that will be part of the course. NE 411. Nuclear Reactor Engineering. 3(3,0). This course is the study of reactor heat generation and removal, steady-state and non steady-state conduction in reactor elements, single phase, two phase, liquid metal colling, and core thermal design. Prerequisites: NE 305, MET 421, and MET 435.

NEEP 405. Nuclear Reactor Theory 3(3,0). The neutronic behavior of fission reactors, primarily from a theoretical, one-speed perspective. Criticality, fission product poisoning, reactivity control, reactor stability and introductory concepts in fuel management, followe by slowing down and one-speed diffusion theory. Prerequisites: NEEP 305, Math 319 and 321.

NEEP 471. Economics and Environmental Aspects of Nuclear Energy. 3(3,0). This course deals with the following: economic and environmental aspects of nuclear energy; economics of the nuclear fuel cycle, economics and environmental impact of the nuclear fuel cycle and the impact on design, plant siting and regulation of nuclear energy.

NFM 102. Nutrition and Food. 3(3,0). A study of the significance and nature foods as related to technological, psychological and socioeconomic influence; values, standards, goals, and provisions for nutrition and food decision and their relationships to health; and the impact of public policy on food and nutrition. Cross cultural/global concerns and career in nutrition management will also be emphasized.(F,S)

NFM 201. Introduction to Dietetics. . 3(3,0). Introduction to the profession fo dietetics and responsibilities associated with dietetic professional practice. The emphasis is on development of a pre-professional portfolio, career options in dietetics and preparation for a dietetic internship. Leadership and professional career development for the dietition is addressed through self-reflection, creation fo materials for post-baccalaureate programs and job shadowing experience. Professional issues related to dietetic practice include Code of Ethics, legal credentialing and standards of Professional practice, leadership and future trends in the profession.(F,S)

NFM 308. Nutritional Biochemistry. 3(3,0). This course illustrates biochemical processes of human nutrition metabolism. Through the use of an integrative approach, it intertwines nutirtioin, biology and Physiology by providing in-depth analysis of digestion, absorption, trsnsport and intermediary metabolism of nutrients. Included in a limited presentation fo clinical nutritional deficiences with emphasis oon normal vs abnormal processes.(F,S)
