EDRC 530-01. Practicum in Rehabilitation. 3(3,0). Supervised experience in applying basic rehabilitation counseling skills and techniques through the use of effective communication skills. Knowledge and practice is provided to develop skills in problem solving and decision-making. Laboratory experiences are provided so students may apply skills and knowledge under supervision. (F,S)

EDRC 531. Intro to Rehab Services. 3(3,0). Designed to acquaint students with the history, legislation, principes, methods and techniques in rehabilitation a they are applicable throughout the rehabilitation process, especially in working with the severely disabled. The course includes techniques and methods of case findings, medical, sociala, and vocational evaluation, and provision of case services. Prerequisite: Permission of the instructor. (F).

EDRC 533. Medical and Psychological Aspects of Disability 3(3,0). This course is designed to provide students with the information and understanding for the appraisal and understanding of the psychosocial and medical aspects of disability and chronic illness, including their nature, causes, functional aspects and treatment. This course provides students with information on severe disabilities and introduces students to the whole-person concept of disability on a person vocationally, social, and his/her family settings.

EDRC 535. Vocational Placement in Rehabilitation. 3(3,0). Combines classroom and field experiences to provide students with information about the counselors role in placment, job analysis, job-seeking skills, job developemnt; determination of job readiness, and job reengineering. Field experience complements each of these areas to give he student experienctially-validated approach to vocational placement. (F)

EDRC 536-01. Internship in Rehabilitation I. 3(3,0 ). Students have the opportunity to apply theory to the practice of rehabilitation counseling, case management and/or work evaluation and work adjustment in a rehabilitation setting. Preference is given to settings in which students may work directly with persons with severe disabilities. Internship is provided under the general supervision of program faculty and direct supervision of a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) within the agency or faculty. Students must meet regularly with the Clinical Practice Supervisor within the agency to discuss client problems and possible solutions. Must be taken for the entire last semester of enrollment (minimum of 300 clock hours). (F,S)

EDRC 539-01. Foundations of Clinical Mental Health. 3(3,0 ). This course provides a conceptual overview of the professional, historical, theoretical, research, and applied foundations of the clinical mental health counseling profession. The information presented will illuminate contemporary issues, as well as point out possible future directions. The value of this course will be determined by the degree to which it inspires students to seek further knowledge and skills. (F,S)

EE 326. Introduction to PLC and Virtual Instruments. 3(3,0). An introductory course to Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Virtual Instruments (VI) , focusing on the underlying principles of how PLCs work and providing practical information and skills about programming, and troubleshooting a PLC system, multipurpose personal-computer-based approach to real-time instrumentation. Interfacing using Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench (LabVIEW) for data acquisition (DAQ), transmission and analysis. Prerequisite: EE 312.

EE 343. Microcontrollers and Embedded Systems Lab. 1(0,2). Emphasizes microcontroller programming and interfacing for controlling various types of hardware. Topics include reading and writing to RAM, applications of a digital latch, keypad interfacing, interrupts, clock pulse generation, pulse width modulation, serial interfaces, and A-to-D and D-to-A conversion. Co-requisite: EE 342.
