Students may do an internship for academic credit of three (3) hours and must work at least 120 hours at an organization during the semester registered. Particular attention is given to controversies concerning the scope and methods of conducting research in political science. Topics may include advertising theory, audience development, media selection, media buying, reach, frequency, creative strategy, and tactics. Topics may include social media listening and social media strategies, research, implementation, and measurement. Students create social media posts and track success through analytics. Topics may include sound public relations principles and practices; and planning and organizing events, meetings, conferences, or conventions.
