Non-nation specific topicsmay include - Myth and Mesopotamia which will relate the history ofMesopotamia through the myths of Gilgamesh, Enumma Elish, Adapato name a few; Minorities in the Middle East will attempt to definethe term "minority" and highlight the history of Armenians, Assyrians,Jews, Kurds, Yezidis, Ahwazis among others; History of Middle EasternReligions would look at the history and tenets of Judaism, EasternChristianity, and Islam as well as lesser-known religions includingZoroastrianism, Yezidism, Bahaism, and Druzism; The History of thePalestinian-Israeli Conflict will work to uncover the historical, culturaland social concerns of such ongoing discord and exploring possibilitiesfor peace. This course may be repeated for credit, but students may notstudy the same subject more than once.
