    Prerequisite: CIS 299 - Web Development Center IWeb Development Center II continues the experience of WebDevelopment Center I (CIS 299). In the second semester studentstake on a management and mentoring role in the project, possiblyas a team leader. Mentor/managers play a larger role in formulatingproject strategy and in the interface between your team and the client.They also take charge of site promotion including search engineoptimization (SEO) strategy and the design and implementation ofeffective landing pages. The team project will become part of eachstudent's professional portfolio.

    Prerequisites: Senior standing in Web Development and consent of instructorThis course is designed to prepare students for the transition fromacademia to the real world, and to allow them to "sample thewater" of their chosen profession. Prior to starting their internship,students are guided through the experience of preparing a resume,conducting a job search for an appropriate position, and applyingfor a position. Students select from a wide variety of positionsoffered at local businesses, computer companies, consulting firms,non-profit organizations, and government agencies. During thesemester students perform meaningful tasks, usually withoutfinancial remuneration for their company, either individually or apart of a team. Students receive feedback and guidance from theiremployers, their RWU Career Services advisor, and their facultysponsor.

    Prerequisites CIS 399 - Web Development Center IIWeb Development Center III is the capstone experience begun in WebDevelopment Center I (CIS 299). Third-semester students direct theproject strategy and the interface between the team and the client. Inaddition, they ensure that appropriate analytics are in place to evaluatethe degree to which the site meets the site goals. Third-semesterstudents also evaluate and select appropriate technology, including theContent Management System and custom coding options, and develop and integrate a social media (Facebook, Google+, etc.) strategy tocomplement the site's Web strategy. The team's project becomes partof each student's professional portfolio.

    An overview of the American criminal justice system. Discussesin detail the individual components of the criminal justice system,including the police, the courts, and corrections. Designed not only to provide basic understanding of our legal system, but also to provokethinking on key legal and criminal justice issues such as the deathpenalty and mandatory sentencing laws.

    This course seeks to provide students with a better understandingof the relationship between criminal justice and legal studies, theplace of justice studies within the university curriculum, and therole of these fields in American society. Within this context, thecourse has the general goal of improving students' ability to think,write, and speak about justice studies. Specific topics for the focusof these activities include the literature of criminal justice and thelaw, becoming facile with the language and terminology in the field,ethics and academic integrity, and the meaning of justice in Americaand the world.
