WR 60: Writing for International Students

5 credits (5 lec hrs/wk) Writing for International Students focuses on improving sentence construction and variety as well as paragraph and essay development. All reading and writing practice is done using texts from various disciplines in the humanities and science for the purpose of preparing International students for success in mainstream college courses. Prerequisite: Minimum TOEFL score of 450.

A final goal is to have students organize paragraphs in an extended essay. The class will include discussion of grammar, punctuation, and conventions of style and usage. Prerequisite: WR0525 with a "C" orbetter or placement test score.
