It is called a "bridge" course because this course acts as a bridge to the regular university course. The bridge course provides the support you need as an international student to understand class assignments and vocabulary related to the course, and to help you build the language skills you need to fulfill written, oral, and group assignments for the regular university course. Classroom activities include discussions, in-class exercises, vocabulary games and exercises, online work on Blackboard and Internet sites applicable to the course content, mini-presentations, outlining, and quizzes focusing on the content of the university course.
