    Qualified students who seek individualized advanced study in some area of mathematics that is not covered in scheduled courses may apply for an Independent Study Project (ISP). Students assume responsibility for special readings and research under the supervision of a designated faculty member. Regular meetings with faculty and completion of all assignments are required. Prerequisite: MATH Core and Conditions of the University's ISP Policy. Prerequisite:    MATH-480

    This course designed to improve student competence in algebra. Topics include basic algebraic expressions, operations with polynomials, equations and inequalities, and introductory graphing. The course can only be taken as Pass/Fail (Credits for this course are not applicable to the degree.)

    Neumann University periodically offers Special Topics courses in Management [MGT] that reflect specific topics of study which are not part of the standard University curriculum. Special Topics courses in Management that are numbered at the 126/226 level are generally open to all students. Courses at the 326 level are specifically designed for students at either the junior or senior level, while courses at the 426 level are only open to students with senior standing. For any given semester, course title(s) and content area(s), as well as any specified prerequisites in addition to those listed below, are published during the preceding semester. Permission of the instructor may also be required before a student can register for any Special Topics course. Prerequisite: BUS 200 (with a minimum grade of C). Prerequisite:    MGT-126

    The course is designed for non business majors as well as business majors to introduce students to the world of business. The course provides a brief consideration of the varied aspects of business while presenting a working knowledge of the environment and function of business in society. An overview of information systems, government regulation, and career opportunities will be presented followed by a survey of the marketing, personnel, production, and finance functions.

    The basic managerial functions and reviews the key principles and theories that have influenced the field of management since the advent of the modern corporation are introduced in this course. Topics covered include: the evolution of management thought, international management, planning and decision-making, organizing and managing human resources, motivating and leading, and management's social and ethical responsibilities. A Challenge Examination is available for this course.

    This course combines global business theories with practice. In the first part of this course, students learn various methodologies which are utilized in the preparation of international business plans. They are then able to evaluate the export potential of local firms, analyze their competitiveness, as well as identify international business trends in industry and potential distributors or partners in a targeted market area. This section of the course is followed by an international trip to visit foreign businesses, international trade officials, and cultural sites. For the international travel component of this course, students are responsible to pay for their own travel expenses. Prerequisites: BUS 200 and MKT 200 (both with a minimum grade of C). Prerequisite:    MGT-320

    Students gain an understanding of global management issues in this course and learn to prepare international management reports for participating companies which operate in the Tri-State area. Students also solve cases as they become familiar with the environment, operation, and culture of global enterprises. Prerequisites: BUS 200 and BUS 321 (both with a minimum grade of C). Prerequisite:    MGT-322

    This course focuses on individual and group behavior in an organization. Topics include: work groups; motivation; power and authority; communication; conflict management; and leadership. Prerequisite: BUS 200 (with a minimum grade of C). Prerequisite:    MGT-342
