An examination of the development of Spanish theater from the Golden Age, (with a selection of playwrights such as Lope de Rueda, Lope de Vega, Calderon de la Barca, Tirso de Molina, Ana Caro, and Maria de Zayas y Sotomayor) through the Romantic period (El duque de Rivas and Jose Zorrilla) and modern theater (Federico Garcia Lorca). Videos of plays read will be viewed.
