The course begins with origin traditions and archaeological knowledge concerning origins and moves to an examination of the Paleo-Indian, Archaic, and Woodland Eras and then moves to the development of tribes. Tribal relationships with European colonists and the United States will be examined through the development of reservations and the emergence of reservation sovereignty. F
