3.0 GPA in all CS and required art history courses; cannot enroll if on probation in the major. Focus on development of an independent, original, student-generated curatorial project focused on a specific topic, idea, body of work. Emphasis will be on how to construct a topic, how to research previous work in the area, how to determine the scope of a project that is viable and how to identify artists and specific works that might potentially be included in such an exhibition. Attention will be paid to how to generate an exhibition proposal, how to develop the supporting materials that explain the rationale for the exhibition, the budget, and the installation requirements.

Must successfully complete CS400; cannot enroll if on probation in the major This will be the culmination of the two-semester senior project. Students will prepare either a real or virtual exhibition with all aspects of their project focused on a specific theme, idea, artist, group, period, or style. Focus will be on successful installation and deployment of the artworks in response to the demands of a given space. Written materials, exhibition models, and oral presentations will be part of both the preparation and the documentation of the project.

Each student will participate first-hand in curatorial operations through a meaningful internship experience, between the junior and senior years; placement will depend upon individual student interest and may vary from museums, cultural institutions, and alternative artists' spaces with local, national or international placements.

InDesign does print design better than any other program. The transparency, effects and typographical control missing from the other page layout programs will thrill students. This course emphasizes how InDesign works seamlessly with images from Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. Learn the ins and outs of what InDesign can do with print design, then go beyond ads, posters, brochures and books to package them for print, interactivity or the web.

Designed to introduce digital arts within the Mac environment and acquaint students with terminology, scanning, digital photography, storage and formats. Class projects include computer animation, web design, digital painting, layout design, vector creation and image editing.
