This course presents a survey of the introduction and evolvement of Christianity in China from the 7th century to the present day. The survey will be viewed through a many-sided prism of intellectual, institutional, ethical, spiritual, and political life of Christianity and its integration into Chinese culture. A survey of the histories of religious communities, faiths, and practices in North America, particularly the United States, from the colonial period to the present. The religious histories of Native Americans and of peoples of Europe, Africa, and Asia who later arrived, are all considered.
