An overview of many of the "isms" of twentieth-centuryclassical music (impressionism, serialism, etc.), the course includes a large composition component. Th e use of Finale music-notation soft ware will also be aught. Keyboard application, sight singing and dictation are not included in this class, but are included in the accompanying lab. Prerequisite: None Th e Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program meets the requirements of Nebraska State Law mandating that all individuals working as nurses aides in a hospital or long term care facility complete a 75-hour training course. Th e course requires 45 hours of classroom and 31 hours of skills training in emergency, cleanliness, safety, human anatomy, family relationships and death. Basic nursing skills are taught. Th ose who successfully complete the course will be entered into the state registry. Th is course runs for 10 weeks. (4/45/31/0/0/V)

Co-requisite(s): LPNR-1240 LPNR-1340 LPNR- 1240L LPNR-1340L Th is course is designed to acquaint the student with that branch of science which deals with the sources, physical characteristics, composition, preparation, dosage and eff ect of medications used in the prevention, relief and cure of disease conditions. A comparison of metric, apothecary and household equivalents essential for medication dosages will be included. Th e nursing process and age-appropriate techniques are stressed as they apply to administration of medication. Off ered fall semester only. (2/30/0/0/0/2)

Prerequisite: Completion of 2nd semester of the PN program. Concurrent enrollment LPNR-2265 and LPNR-2270 or permission of the instructor. Th is course is a continuation of LPNR-1410 which deals with the sources, physical characteristics, composition, preparation, dosage and eff ects of medications used in the prevention, relief and cure of disease. Students will continue to utilize math skills. Th e nursing process and age-appropriate techniques are stressed as they apply to administration of medication. Off ered spring semester only.
