Individuals will learn signs and symptoms of heart attacks, strokes and choking. Th e course prepares individuals to perform CPR and the Heimlich maneuver for infants, children and adults.     Prerequisite: NURA-1190 Th is course is designed to instruct the experienced nursing assistant to assume the role of care staff member, who has a beginning knowledge of medication administration and pharmacology. Upon completion of the course, the student will be eligible to sit for an exam administered by the Department of Health. Th e course gives the students criteria from which to evaluate our own time and situation and, in addition, enrich students' historical perspectives. It shows how the various arts intersect, infl uence and are infl uenced by their times. Th is course is off ered as a general introduction to humanities and is not meant to replace or supplant the more specifi c off erings in art history, theatre history, music history, or philosophy.     Prerequisite: PSYC-2030 HUSR-1620 Th is course provides a combination of actual fi eld placement in a human service agency with classroom discussion and refi nement of human service worker skills. Th e issues of confi dentiality, ethics and techniques will be dealt with in depth. An exchange of ideas concerning the interrelation of various agencies and the diff erences and similarities of the human service worker's role in these agencies are also discussed.
