Why is language a crucial component in formulating constructs of masculinity and femininity? What stereotypes of gender-based language are promoted in our society? How can we analyze language to reveal disparate views and treatment of the sexes?

The student is guided from the initial concept through synopsis, outlines, working drafts, and completion of an original one-act play and a staged reading of this project. Either of these courses may be substituted for each other and may be used interchangeably for D/F repeats but may not be counted for duplicate credit.
