Explores the Native American religious traditions of North America, covering issues such as spirituality and religion, religion and identity, and religious diversity. Comparisons are made between American Indian religions and other cultural traditions in the global context. Ethnographic descriptions focus on specifi c groups such as the Lakota (Sioux); the Apache; and the Native American Church. Students taking the course at the 395 level will be expected to write a research paper. Alternate years.
