1.00 - 3.00 Credits
An opportunity to engage in individualized projects which may involve research, participation and reporting. Prerequisites: Senior standing, cumulative GPA of 2.5, and permission of instructor and department chair.

2.00 Credits
2 credits Students learn and practice study strategies that will help them make a successful transition to college-level learning. Students apply principles of learning as they strengthen their reading, note taking, time management, and test preparation skills. These skills are practiced in a designated General Education course that students are all required to take in the same semester as they take this course. This course is required for selected new students based on academic assessment and may be open to other students as an elective. Offered as needed.

2.00 Credits
2 credits A study of real numbers, fractions, percents, decimals, scientific notation, and the introductory ideas of algebra. This course is usually taken by a student whose Enhanced ACT Math score is 18 or below.

3.00 Credits
3 credits A study of sets, exponents and radicals, polynomials and factoring, and formulas from geometry and business applications. Prerequisite: Enhanced ACT Math score of 19 or above, or completion of MAT 090 Number Skills. This course fulfills the mathematics baseline competency requirement. Credit for this course will not be given if a higher-numbered mathematics course has been completed with a grade of "C" or higher.

3.00 Credits
3 credits Primarily intended as a survey for the non-mathematics major, this course will include a wide range of topics to display the breadth, scope, and power of mathematics. Possible topics include: problem-solving techniques; logic and methods of argument; mathematics of finance; graph theory and its applications, statistics and probability; applications of mathematics to computer science; decision-making; non-standard geometries; and computer algebra systems. Breadth is one goal of this course, so other topics might be incorporated and/or substituted. Prerequisite: MAT 105 Intermediate Algebra or equivalent.

3 credits A study of the axioms of the real and complex numbers; equations and inequalities of the first and second degree in one variable; polynomial, exponential and logarithmic functions; and the solution of systems of equations. Prerequisite: MAT 105 Intermediate Algebra with a grade of "C" or higher, or equivalent. Credit for this course will notbe given if a higher-numbered mathematics course has been completed with a grade of "C" or higher.

2 credits A study of the unit circle and angle measure; trigonometric functions of real numbers and of angles; graphs of trigonometric functions; trigonometry of right triangles; trigonometric identities and equations; inverse trigonometric functions; Laws of Sines and Cosines; trigonometric forms of complex numbers. Prerequisite: MAT 122 College Algebra.

4.00 Credits
4 credits An introduction to calculus including the study of limits, continuity, the derivative, applications of the derivative and an introduction to the theory of integration. Prerequisites: MAT 122 College Algebra and MAT 124 Trigonometry, or the equivalent.

4 credits A study of the indefinite and definite integral, applications of the integral, inverse trigonometric functions, logarithmic and exponential functions, techniques of integration, indeterminate forms, and sequences and series. Prerequisite: MAT 192 Calculus I.

3.00 Credits
3 credits A study of the fundamental concepts and methods of teaching mathematics in the elementary schools. Topics include sets, whole numbers, integers, rational numbers, non-metric geometry, measurement, mathematics labs and materials and evaluation. Prerequisite: MAT 105 Intermediate Algebra or equivalent.
