College Algebra is designed to satisfy the general education requirements for associate of arts or science degree. It covers an array of algebraic topics that prepare for further course work.

This course is designed for students who already have a solid understanding of basic arithmetic, fractions, and decimals. Topics c overed include real numbers and their properties, linear equations and inequalities with applications, systems of equations and inequalities with applications, graphing linear equations and inequalities, exponents, and operations with polynomials. Course is graded P (pass)/W (withdraw). Prerequisite: MA 090 or appropriate placement on COMPASS test.

This course covers factoring, rational expressions and their operations with applications, equations and inequalities containing absolute values, synthetic division, graphing, rational exponents, and radical expressions and their operations with applications. Pre-requisite: MA 095 or appropriate placement on COMPASS test.

This course covers the concept of functions; complex numbers; and solving systems of equations, sequences, and series. Functions investigated include linear, quadratic, polynomial, exponential, and logarithmic. Pre-requisite: MA 102, appropriate placement on COMPASS test or permission of instructor.

This course will cover ideas in mathematics and their applications to other disciplines. Topics covered include ideas from set theory, logic, elementary statistics and probability, combinations, and permutations. This class is intended for students not expecting to enroll in additional math classes. Pre-requisite: MA 102, appropriate placement on COMPASS test, or permission of instructor.

This two-semester course is intended for mathematical training of prospective elementary teachers and students interested in human services. Topics covered include problem solving techniques, logic, sets, relations, functions, decimal numbers, and different number systems. Pre-requisite: MA 102, appropriate placement on COMPASS test, or permission of instructor.

This second semester course of sequence covers elementary statistics, probability, applications, applications to geometry, and area-volume problems. Pre-requisite: MA 110.

2.00 Credits
This course is designed to give an analytic development of the trigonometric and circular functions. Topics covered include angle and triangle measure, the identities, equations, inverse functions, Law of Cosines/Sines, and polar coordinates. Prerequisite: MA 103 or permission of instructor.

This course is designed to prepare students for MA221. Topics covered include trigonometry and algebra. Pre-requisite: MA103 or appropriate placement or Compass, ACT or SAT examination.

This course is designed to give students a non-rigorous introduction to differential and integral calculus. Emphasis will be placed on applications to business and the social sciences in topics including limits, continuity, derivatives, and definite integrals of single variable functions. Pre-requisite: MA 103 or permission of instructor.
