This course covers the development of math skills necessary to the building trades - linear and volume measurements and the framing square conversions of 12ths to 10ths and surface measurements. Course is graded P (pass)/W (withdraw).

This course is an introduction to the study and application of concrete - forms, volume measurements, concrete products reinforcement, and the placement of concrete, framing - floors, walls, rafters, subfloors, wall sheathing, roof sheathing, roofing, and window placement.

This course is an introduction to the study and application of wall insulation, vapor barriers, and dry wall. Tapping and texturing, door and jamb hanging, casing, baseboard, stair finish, cabinet hanging, plus the study of codes and regulations for each material and procedure will be studied.

In this course students will develop the skills necessary to read both residential and commercial blueprints through sketching, drawing, and reading floor plans, foundation plans, plot plans, details, schedules, and plan specifications.
