The Emergency Vehicle Services Vehicle Operator course provides emergency vehicle operators with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate an emergency vehicle in emergency and non-emergency mode. The Pennsylvania Department of Health requires that all EMS operators take a DOH -approved course prior to operating an emergency vehicle. Topics covered include legal aspects of emergency vehicle operations, navigation and route mapping, driver roles and responsibilities, basic driving skills, and proper driving procedures. Corequisites: HACC EVOS (academic) certificate from a HACC EMT Program.

This intensive course introduces FMP's to the fundamentals of critical care transport and expands the existing knowledge base of the advanced pre-hospital provider. In addition, this course helps FMPs advance their clinical knowledge in concepts to include pathophysiology, pharmacology, advanced airway management, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, obstetrics, neonatology, toxicology, rescue operations and flight physiology concepts.
