Provides the opportunity for students to develop the cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills necessary to be eligible for the Pa. Department of Health - Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician's (EMTs) Certification exams.

Builds on the foundation of lifesaving basic life support (BLS) skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. This advanced course Advanced Cardiac Life Support highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communications, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Students are first taught the course content online using Heartcode ACLS. Access is granted to the required online portion with purchase of Heartcode ACLS at www.onlineaha.org. Students must bring certificate of successful completion of the online portion to the classroom session.

Prepares the high school student who might be the first person at the scene of a trauma or medical emergency, to provide immediate care of life threatening injuries or illness, control the scene, and prepare for the ambulance arrival. The training is divided into the following sections: Preparatory, Airway, Patient Assessment, Trauma, Special Patient Populations, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Operations.

This Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) course uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. Students are first taught the course content online using Heartcode PALS. Access is granted to the required online portion with purchase of Heartcode PALS at www.onlineaha.org. Student must bring certificate of successful completion of the online portion to the classroom session.

Trains participants to promptly recognize several life -threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. It includes adult, child, and infant rescue techniques. This Instructor-led course features accelerated content that is designed for learners with existing basic life support (BLS) knowledge, allowing for time efficiency while teaching both single-rescuer and team BLS skills for application in both in-facility and prehospital settings.

The course covers core content and discipline-specific content required to teach AHA courses.

The Critical Care Provider Course is designed for Paramedics and Prehospital Registered Nurses that are looking to advance their existing clinical knowledge. The course is intended to introduce participants to the realm of critical care medicine from a transport perspective, both air and ground. Participants will be introduced to a variety of critical illnesses and injuries and their associated pathophysiology. Participants will learn the fundamentals of critical care transport and advanced pre-hospital medicine. The course will focus on transport related issues and aid the provider in becoming an integral member of the critical care transport team.

This American Heart Association course is intended for healthcare providers who may infrequently be involved in the care of a critically ill child. The main focus is prevention, along with the assessment, recognition and stabilization of pediatric victims at risk of severe cardiopulmonary distress.
