Prepares individuals for the General Knowledge, Air Brake and Combination Vehicle portions of the CDL Class A Permit exam administered at their respective State's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) location. Topics of discussion include: Restrictions, different systems, air production, parts, dual air brake systems and mechanics, with an overall content review.

Provide a course of study to prepare students seeking to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver???s License (CDL) or upgrade from Class B to a Class A CDL, as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Prerequisite requirement for Class A or Class B CDL hands-on training includes: complete the CDL Theory A/B module by successfully passing the required written assessment (exam) with a minimum score of 80%, must be 18 years of age or older; possess a DOT Medical Examiner certificate; obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) with General Knowledge, Combination Vehicle and Air Brakes endorsements; pass a regulated drug screen AFTER obtaining a CLP, and be registered on the FMCSA???s Training Providers Registry

Covers powered industrial truck safety features and requirements, vehicle operations, vehicle stability, loading and unloading, Students are taught hands-on instruction how to operate a powered industrial truck (sit down or stand up style) in a safe manner without direct supervision and achieve their certification. This course includes both classroom and hands-on training. Forklift certification must be obtained every three years.

Introduces students to the WEB Development and Design programs including faculty members and facilities, tools of the profession, and the resources and study habits needed to succeed in this curriculum. This course covers Web authoring tools in conjunction with operating systems, file management, and office application skills needed for a successful career in the field. Prerequisite: ENGL 057 or a combination of ENGL 003, or 007 and ENGL 051 with a grade of C or higher; Eligibility for enrollment into ENGL 101.

An introduction to Web page design and development is included using HyperText Markup Language (HTML) and free editors. Students develop an online portfolio site that may be used through-out their college career. Prerequisite: Eligibility for enrollment into ENGL 101 and completion of ENGL 057 or a combination of ENGL 003, or 007 and 051 with a grade of C or higher (if required by the College Placement and Testing program). Word processing skills and the ability to receive and send email attachments is recommended.
